Conference Season Template (October)

IMPORTANT: These templates are pretty introductory, so if you are already communicating with the school and have a relationship (emails, texts, or calls back and forth) then make sure you make the email a little more relational and you do not have to "introduce" yourself in the beginning of the email. Also, make the end of the email a little more asking "what is the next step in the process, because I am very hopeful to be a future (mascot)?". If you really like the school ALWAYS TRY TO MOVE THE RELATIONSHIP FORWARD AND ONTO THE NEXT STEP.

ADD IN ON AVERAGE ONE-TWO SENTENCES ABOUT THE SPECIFIC SCHOOL YOU ARE EMAILING, BECAUSE WE WANT ALL OF THESE EMAILS TO BE TARGETED AND NOT LOOK LIKE A COPY AND PASTE. IT IS MORE LIKELY A COACH IS GOING TO READ AND RESPOND IF IT SAYS SOMETHING SPECIFIC ABOUT THEM AND THEY KNOW YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THEM AND NOT JUST EVERYONE IN THE COUNTRY. I KNOW THIS TAKES MORE TIME TO RESEARCH, BUT WILL WORK OUT BETTER FOR YOU IN THE LONG RUN TO TAKE THE TIME.

Reminder: These templates are used by all RPR athletes, so if you just copy and paste and do not add your own personality/flair they will seem more boring and might not get the attention of the coach like you want. SO ADD PERSONALITY/FLAIR.

Follow the prompts in the below email template…

BOLD = things that you must change to your information

Red Highlight = things that you can add to give your email more personality and a personal touch

Subject Line: Sarah Spiker, 2028, S (Add approach touch or something that makes you stand out. If you don't know what it is or if you should add it ask your club coach or club recruiting coordinator.)

Coach ________ (spell their name correctly!!),

My name is Sarah Spiker (YOUR NAME AS IT APPEARS IN UA, and you can put a Nickname in quotes Sarah “Rah” Spiker if you go by something other than what is in UA) and I am a 5’6’’ class of 2028 S from Knoxville, TN! I know you are very busy during the season, but wanted to keep you updated. I hope conference season has been positive for you and your program. You can look at their schedule and see how they have been doing and adjust the sentence before this if they have been winning or losing or just doing okay. Also add a sentence or 2 about why you like that specific school. (Add personality.)

With club season tryouts this month I am excited about getting ready for the spring and changing my focus after this high school season. I would love to know if I am on your recruiting list and what your plans/timelines are for recruiting a 2028 S?

If you like my film below I would like to move forward and schedule a phone call to learn more about University/College Name and your volleyball program. If it is easier please text me at 123-456-789 and we can find a time to chat. If you are emailing D1 and you are a Sophomore/Freshman instead of these last 2 sentences you can put "I know we cannot talk until after June 15th following my sophomore year, but I will follow along until then via social media and your website. I look forward to learning more about University/College Name and your volleyball program by following along."
